Since the conclusion of the 2018 Heartland Gaming Expo, coordinator Akram Taghavi-Burris has worked to develop and external planning committee for the event, made up of the Tandy School of Computer Science alumni and constituents. This summer the committee suggested re-branding the event as the Computer Simulation & Gaming Conference (CSGC), as well as refocusing the event from just a competition to a full educational conference day in addition to the completion. Other suggestions included broadening the competition categories to include not only game development and design, but computer simulations and graphic/ digital art.

These recommendations have been implemented and we are happy to announce the newly branded 2019 Computer Simulation & Gaming Conference (CSGC) is set for Friday April 12 and Saturday April 13.

This two-day educational event will now be divided into a conference day (April 12)  filled with workshops, demos and presentations; followed by a competition/exhibition day (April 13) were competitors exhibit their submissions in a variety of competitions aimed at not only game development and design, but also simulations and graphics.
